#1 Postcards from Quarantine: Let Goodness Spread
During this extraordinary time while self-distancing and WFHing, we want to capture the voices around our community in a singular spot.
This quarantine experience has inspired my creative writing muscle, I am being motivated to share my thoughts and emotions to encapsulate this moment and offer encouragement for what’s next.
I will publish blogs as I am stirred to put thought on paper and invite you to read and share them. But it’s not just about me, our social media feeds are full of many voices being published but I can’t keep up.
We invite you to publish your voices here on BrightSpot as a repository of hope. We are looking for encouraging messages and stories to build us up as we seek to rise in these uncertain times.
Simply contact us through our “Contact Form” and let us know you’re interested and we will communicate with you directly. We look forward to hearing from you.

Let Goodness Spread
Dear Humanity,
I am a fan of human beings. I am a fan of the human spirit. We are a resilient bunch when shit happens. But we are at our best when we see the worst. And this world has had some worsts...but here we are still standing on this spinning rock in the universe.
It’s true that we’re all flawed and broken and unique but we share a common heart…a remarkable muscle that pumps nearly 100,000 times per day. We don’t have to think about it, it just happens. It is a miracle of life.
Another miracle of life is the goodness that flows from our hearts. Like our pulse, goodness just happens without much thought. We didn’t make up goodness, it’s not 3D printed or machine learned, it’s human. It’s ours to own as a human being, free of charge.
It’s ironic that one of the smallest living microbes with no heartbeat has caused heart break as it spreads across this globe. It knows no currency, has no prejudices, and does not love. But it has purpose and it is living out its intent quite efficiently. And it is especially cruel that this virus forces us to be apart, to isolate, and to refrain from that most human form of comfort, touch, when we need it most.
Humans own why, no other species was blessed with this question. As far as I am concerned, we can either sit and wonder why this is happening to us, or pursue why this difficult time can also be an opportunity for us. The answer is already imprinted on our hearts, it is goodness.
Human history has shown no miniscule virus or manufactured bomb can steal goodness from our hearts. Goodness always prevails. And it must find new ways to spread itself in this world. This is our generation’s call to out-viral the virus with love’s bold intent and greater purpose spread into every part of our lives with no limitation.
So today, in the stillness of your heart and in the quiet of your own home, ask how you can spread goodness.
Love,
Your Heart.
